IKARI Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 July 2026
1. The agreement
By using IKARI you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
IKARI is provided by IKARI LLC, Portland, Oregon. Contact: support@ikariapp.org
2. What IKARI is
A private journal and mental-training app for young athletes and students. You write things down. The app shows you prompts, readings, guided programs and short routines, all stored and displayed on your own device.
3. Who can use it
You must be 13 or older.
If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission, and we encourage you to tell them you are using it.
4. What it costs
IKARI is a paid subscription with a free trial period. Prices are shown before you buy. Payment is handled by our payment processor, not by us directly, and we never see or store your card number.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, from inside the app, in one step, and you keep your access until the end of the period you already paid for. We will not ask you to email us, call anybody, or explain why.
If you cancel or your subscription lapses, you can still open the app and export everything you have written, permanently and for free. Your writing is not held hostage to a payment.
Refunds: contact us at support@ikariapp.org and we will deal with it like adults.
5. What IKARI is not
This matters more than anything else on this page.
IKARI is not a medical device, a mental health service, a therapy, a diagnosis, or a substitute for professional care. It does not treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any condition.
It is not medical, nutritional, or training advice. It does not tell you what your body can do. It does not prescribe exercises, sets, durations, diets, meal plans, or weight targets, and you should be skeptical of anything that does.
It is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis or someone is in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. In the US you can call or text 988.
We make no promises about outcomes. Nothing here claims it will improve your performance, your grades, your recovery, your results, or how you feel. Content is labeled with the strength of the evidence behind it precisely so you can judge it yourself, and some of it is explicitly labeled as one coach's opinion.
Always consult qualified people — your doctor, your athletic trainer, a registered dietitian, your coach — before acting on anything you read here that touches your body or your health.
6. Your content
What you write is yours. We claim no ownership of it and no license to use it.
We also never receive it. It is stored on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups. The app provides an export tool for this. If you lose or wipe your device without a backup, your writing is gone permanently and we cannot recover it, because we never had a copy.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use IKARI to break the law, and do not try to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its content. The written content, programs and design are ours and are not licensed for reuse.
8. Availability
We may update, change, or discontinue the app. We will try to give reasonable notice before discontinuing it, and to make sure you can export your data first.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IKARI is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where the law does not allow that limit.
10. Governing law
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will say so in the app rather than silently updating the date.
